One of the Republican presidential candidates was asked after Trump’s latest anti-Muslim tirade if he would back Trump if he became the Republican party’s nominee. The candidate said he had made a pledge that he would back the Republican nominee whoever that would be.
What he should have said, as all the candidates should say, is that the pledge was only valid if there was a nominee whose principles and ideals were in accord with the U.S. Constitution, the laws of the United States, and respected all Americans and their religions.
Trump does not and will not and, therefore, all the candidates have been released from their oral pledges to support him if he became the nominee. Where can I get a bumper sticker that says. “Dump Trump?”
