Help our veterans

On theTri-Rail train, as we approached the Hollywood station I saw an elderly gentlemen sitting on one of those walkers with wheels and that has a chair. The conductor placed the ramp for him to board. The man walked in pain onto the train, and once on board he sat in the chair. The conductor asked what his destination was, “The Metrorail transfer station,” replied the frail man.

As we approached the man’s destination, the conductor prepare the ramp for arrival. The elderly man was on his cell phone explaining to someone that he was heading to the VA to have a battery replaced. As he exited the train, I could see that he was in distress walking down the ramp.

There must be a better way for this hero to travel to his VA appointment than to use public transportation.
