Beacon of hope

Reference is made to the recent objections in allowing Syrian refugees to legally migrate to the United States.

Have we forgotten what this country was founded on?

The Statue of Liberty is quite clear in its message: Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free.

Simply because two Iraqis slipped through background checks and turned out to be terrorists, is that supposed to be the basis for recent concerns?

I continue hearing these politicians, and I’m beyond shocked as to their blatant bigotry.

Evil is not limited to one race, religion, or nationality.

While nothing in life is 100 percent fool-proof, are we to change what America stands for?

We must remain the beacon of hope if we are to act as the great nation that we are.
