Thursday evening, my husband and I were traveling south on I-95 between Fort Lauderdale and Miami around 9:30 p.m. Both express lanes were closed, and a notice was up that exit 12 onto the Turnpike was closed and drivers needed to stay on I-95. Then traffic was funneled from six lanes into one.
Well, let me correct that. We were not funneled into a lane, but onto the shoulder of the road. It took an hour to get through a two-mile stretch of the highway. Who would think it was a good idea to shut every lane of I-95 at the same time and also block any opportunity to take an alternate route?
