Metrorail commute

Frustrated with traffic? There’s a lot you can do right now.

For more than a year, I left my car in the driveway and biked to the Douglas Road Metrorail station, rolled my bike onto the Metrorail, then relaxed for the short ride downtown. Wide turnstiles and an elevator make it easy to get a bike to the platform, and every car has reserved spaces to secure bikes while in transit.

My stop at Overtown/Lyric Theater left me a pleasant, ten-minute ride to my work location. Returning home was the best part of my ‘green commute,’ looking at the traffic congestion on US 1 from the air-conditioned comfort of Metrorail.
