New debate rules

We are getting an inkling on how the Republicans deal with the press and the 1st Amendment. If you do not like the questions, such as quoting a candidate's own website or watching videos of a medical doctor endorsing a company’s dietary supplements to cure cancer, then just ban the questioners.

There used to be a distinction between facts and opinions. Now, it seems all facts must be consistent with pre-determined opinions. God help us if the Republicans take over the White House, in addition to the Congress.

If local Cuban-Americans think the GOP is their friend, wait until the party leaders decide that someone from Telemundo or Univision isn’t appropriate to question the president. Sound a bit like Cuba itself?

As for these marathon primary “debates,” the Republicans apparently want an infomercial, not any debate with questions from the unrestrained news media.
