The GOP Congress will not now or ever take up the issue of immigration reform, and Paul Ryan's excuse not to do so because he does not trust the president is pitiful.
The fact that the Senate passed immigration reform only for it to die in the Republican-controlled House is conveniently overlooked, and it looks like the extreme right wing of the Republican Party is still calling the shots. Ryan may be the new speaker, but his plans for immigration reform will suffer the same fate as those of the speaker before him.
