It was a pleasure getting to know so many people during my campaign to represent Miami’s District 2 on the City Commission.
I ran for this seat to shed light on Downtown Miami. Quality of life for residents was at the core, including much-needed street lighting to enhance public safety. Running on this message, downtown voters responded by giving me a majority in one of their few precincts.
Many downtown voters were forced to trek to Brickell, while many Brickell residents had to go to Coconut Grove to find their polling location. With turnout lower than 15 percent, we need to make it easier for voters, not force them to leave their neighborhood in order to cast a ballot.
I remain grateful for your support and promise to continue working to make Miami an even greater place to live.
