Tourists will bypass Florida

Re Leonard Pitts’ Oct. 28 column, An insidious ‘religious freedom’ bill: Can it be a mere 38 years since Florida’s “first lady” of homophobia, Anita Bryant, was the spokesperson for Florida’s infamous and despicable Save the Children Campaign?

I thought of this the other day when reading of Florida Rep. Julio Gonzalez’s proposing yet another “religious freedom bill,” which would legalize bigotry and intolerance in the Sunshine State.

As my wife and I consider our bucket list travel plans, we most certainly will scratch Florida spring training sites and a trip to Disney World with our granddaughter off the list. We would never spend a dime of our well-earned retirement money in any state that legislates hatred.
