A better country
With the executive order to provide relief, albeit temporary, to 4-plus million undocumented residents, President Obama has sealed his place as the most consequential present in generations.
Couple the president’s moves on immigration with the strongest actions to regulate greenhouse gasses in history, extending health coverage and protections to tens of millions, extricating the U.S. economy from a deep and painful recession, shepherding marriage equality into the mainstream, a revived auto industry, an end to torture, and more realist foreign policy; and one comes to see the enormous scope and imprint Obama’s tenure has had in making the United States a better, healthier, and more just country.
