Pink month

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. One can see pink everywhere. Professional athletes are using pink bats, they wear pink clothes and pink shoes. Pink is not that pleasant for the 230,000 women who annually are affected by breast cancer, or the 40,000 women who die of that disease.

We should make every month Breast Cancer Awareness Month and continue to encourage all women to do breast self-examinations and to get age-appropriate mammography.

While there have been tremendous advances in the treatment of breast cancer, early diagnosis is still the secret to the cure.

If we give green (money) to further research and clinical trials for breast cancer, someday we will not see or need pink.
