On guns and Hitler

Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson recently told CNN’s Wolf Blitzer, “I think the likelihood of Hitler being able to accomplish his goals would have been greatly diminished if the people had been armed.”

I wonder if Carson feels the same way about African-American slavery. What if slaves or sympathizers were armed? Would there have been 400 years of slavery? Carson should stay away from incendiary remarks about the Holocaust’s 6 million Jews who were slaughtered.
