Stop killer Krome

In reference to several articles recently published in the Miami Herald about the Krome Avenue roadway expansion project, please note a summary of statistical, factual facts pertaining to “Killer Krome Avenue” roadway.

I am a member of Lost Lives of Krome Avenue, an organization that is promoting the expansion of this roadway, which is much needed and long overdue in order to make this hazardous public roadway safer for local residents and all motorists.

Here are the statistics: From 2008 to 2012, there were a total of 1,800 collisions, which averages out to 450 collisions a year or more than one a day.

For the past 60 years, there have been 229 people documented to have been killed on Krome Avenue. There have been years in which up to 21 have lost their lives on this hazardous roadway. Let’s all work together in order to make this and other hazardous public roadways safe.
