Auctions, not elections
In this new era of obscene allowable political donating and spending after the Supreme Court's unwise decision on Citizens United; why don't we do away with elections altogether and auction off the political posts to the highest candidate bidder?
The candidate with the deeper pockets still would win, as an auction would serve the same purpose as it does now. However, this new process would save the voters the nuisance of having to listen to the candidates' negative comments and lies for months.
