End Islamophobia

From Ben Carson’s nonsensical declaration that a Muslim should not ever become president of the United States, to an individual Donald Trump supporter erroneously declaring there already is a Muslim in the White House, to a scientifically minded Muslim youth in Texas being handcuffed by overreactive police for bringing a home-made alarm clock to his middle school, it is high time for concerned citizens to declare enough is enough to the bigotry of Islamophobia.

Muslim Americans are Americans and should be afforded every iota of respect and dignity that every other citizen deserves. South Florida is home to tens of thousands of honorable, patriotic, productive citizens who happen to be Muslim. They contribute and enrich our community and deserve better than our current discourse.
