The pope is visiting the United States, and I am not surprised to hear lectures on the evils and dangers of consumerism, capitalism and global warming.
Some of this criticism might be well deserved, and we should certainly listen. But for him to go to Cuba — where individual freedoms and civil liberties are non-existent and where the same regime has been in power for more than 55 years and has destroyed a once-vibrant island — and remain silent makes you wonder about the pope’s infallibility.
