Don’t call Rick

Reading Fred Grimm’s Sept. 24 column, Nabbed by cops, one might get the idea that “calling Rick” was a viable option for a well-connected lawbreaker.

From experience, let me say nothing could be further from the truth. Sheriff Rick Ramsey of Monroe County, is one of the most by-the-book, straight-arrow, buttoned-down lawmen that ever put a star or a shield on his chest. He is a cop’s cop who at one time was a motorcycle deputy. He would be the first to tell anyone that it is a fool who rides a big bike drunk.
