The GOP must not squander its mandate. For a party that has imploded in the throes of dysfunction, confusion and polarity in its vision, this is an opportunity to resurrect and unify its base.
Its leadership has had the knack of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.
Now it is positioned to also take the executive branch in the next presidential election.
Maybe the party will understand that rather than self-immolating, this is a chance to fire up its voters.
