Less tax for elderly
The real estate tax season is back and as usual taxes are higher.
I’m over 70 years old and I feel I no longer should pay the full amount for the school board portion of my tax bill.
Most taxpayers my age have no children of school age, so why should we be burdened by this tax? Plus my two daughters never attended public school.
Taxpayers made the huge mistake of allowing the school board to raise the level of taxation at their will. Every year administrators earn more and their pension rises accordingly.
Our Social Security benefits and other fixed income does not.
