Student’s arrest absurd

A 14-year-old boy brought his newest robotics invention, a clock, to school with the expectation to be lauded by his teachers and peers.

On the contrary, he was handcuffed and whisked to a juvenile detention center. The teachers mistook the clock for a bomb despite the boy’s insistence that it was a clock.

The suspicion was triggered only because the inventor is a Muslim boy named Ahmed Mohamed. The absurdity of this incident has shocked many.

This incident is a nightmare for all Muslim parents. For Muslim children born in the United States, being mistreated and misjudged because of the wrongdoings of a few Muslims risks imprinting horrible emotional scars on their psyches. America must continue to embrace all citizens without exception.
