Momentous events all occurred this past weekend that were inspirational and a tribute to Miami and the people who made them happen.
The Kozyak Tropin 11th Annual Minority Mentoring Picnic provided a unique opportunity for young minority law students to mingle with practicing lawyers who volunteered to be their mentors.
Make-A-Wish Foundation, with entertainer Diana Ross, gathered 1,000 people to help fulfill wishes for hundreds of children with terminal illnesses. Incredibly talented musicians from the University of Miami Frost School of Music, led by musical genius and school director Shelley Berg, performed a mesmerizing concert. The Chapman Partnership raised millions of dollars to reach out to the homeless and needy.
These events, held in less than 36 hours, showcased the beauty, generosity and potential that lies within our community, which I am grateful to say is my home.
