Against the Iran deal
I was deeply saddened by Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz’s Sept. 7 Other Views piece, ‘The decision that I am making is the correct one,’ not because I disagree with her opinion or because she is a Jew; rather, it flows from what she wrote.
She spends most of the article correctly pointing out the weaknesses in the agreement. In fact, everyone who supports it, including the president, tells us how problematic the agreement is. Her justification for supporting it?: “My review leads me to the conclusion that we cannot now get a better deal.”
The head of the Democratic National Committee joins the president in telling us we couldn’t do any better.
Is she serious?
She is a member of the Congress of the greatest nation on Earth — the nation that destroyed Nazism, fascism, Japanese imperialism and that brought down the Soviet Union. But she signed her name to a public letter to constituents saying we “can’t do any better.” She has brought us very low.
