Cuba must reform first
The Oct. 23 Jaime Suchlicki Other Views article, No deal with Castro if he’s unready to change, was enlightening.
All of the groups pleading for the end of the Cuban embargo should read the Helms-Burton Act, which clearly states the conditions for the end of the Cuban embargo: return to their legitimate owners the value of the properties confiscated without compensation to them by the Cuban illegitimate government; free elections supervised by international judicial powers; freedom of the press; respect for human rights.
If all these conditions are met, the embargo will be null.
