Police lives matter

Leonard Pitts disingenuously compares the statement “All lives matter” to a doctor treating undamaged body parts. Really? How many lives of unarmed blacks have been lost in the last few years?

For comparison let me show you how many officers have died in the line of duty: A total of 1,466 law enforcement officers died in the line of duty during the past 10 years, an average of one death every 60 hours. There were 117 law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty in 2014 (www.nleomf.org).

Where are the marchers for these lives? Can you see what “All lives matters” really means?
