Naive opinion on Iraq

Jennifer Rubin argues in the Aug. 16 Other Views story, Hillary Clinton’s problems go from bad to worse, that “Iraq was essentially peaceful and stable when Pres. George W. Bush left office.”

It would be an understatement to respond to that assertion with the word and punctuation Rubin herself used to begin the paragraph: “Huh?!” Would it be more accurate to call that judgment (“essentially peaceful and stable”) preposterously naïve or mendaciously misleading or disingenuous?
