Disregarded rights

Re the Aug. 16 article Rally for Confederate battle flag sparks protests in Plantation, Sunrise: The flag promoters are being disingenuous at best. Recent current events aside, there are millions of Americans whose heartfelt view of the history of that flag is that of 400 years of slavery and cruelty, topped off by a war that took more than 600,000 lives and nearly destroyed this nation.

Why are their rights being so blatantly disregarded? Do I really need to tell you?
