All aboard fun train
I have three words for you — Florida Fun Train. About 18 years ago, my daughter worked for the Fun Train. It went from Sheridan Street Station to Orlando, through all those towns that are complaining.
It had a glass top roof, clowns, entertainment and lunch and no one took it! I invested $6,000 in the stock and lost it.
I believed it could work, but Carl Hiaasen is right when he says in his Aug. 9 column, Train-load of questions about a train, people would rather take their own cars.
It wasn’t so cheap as to make it worthwhile when you had to be bused from the station and everywhere you went.
Also, this company had experience. They ran a famous scenic train in the Rockies.Check the short history of the Florida Fun Train before its bankruptcy. It was such a great concept, but never worked out.
