No more pollution

It is disappointing to see public transportation vehicles on our streets plaguing the air with clouds of toxic gases. Same for trucks loaded with building materials, which is a regular scene on my commute to Brickell.

With the price tag on those apartments being built, I ask myself why not mandate those companies to use environmentally friendly engines? No wonder we have the title of second biggest world polluter, after China.

Currently, less than 50 countries have reached commitments to slash carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases to reduce global warming. That number is expected to grow after the December climate change conference in Paris.

I’ve seen a few diesel electric buses in town, kudos to that. It just feels like a goal that should have been already accomplished rather than being at starting point.

The clock is ticking.
