Candidate differences
I hope the Oct. 15 gubernatorial debate helped the many voters I have spoken with who were not well informed about the issues and the candidates’ positions. Some people are voting based on a party’s ancient history.
The two major-party candidates for governor have different views on three important issues — respect for all human life, marriage and religious liberty.
Republican Gov. Rick Scott is pro-life from conception to natural death. Charlie Crist believes a mother has a right to kill her unborn child.
When Crist was a Republican, he held opposite views. Scott respects the Divine definition of marriage, while Crist now favors same-sex marriage.
Scott doesn’t think taxpayers and religious-oriented businesses should have to pay for abortion-causing drugs under Obamacare. Crist presently regards this a good idea.
I urge voters to act responsibly by becoming informed and supporting candidates who honor our nation’s foundational principles.
