Daisy Baez: Vote for real change

I’m disappointed in the Miami Herald’s recommendation of my opponent given his ethical troubles and continued record of shortchanging our community.

As noted in their recommendation, my opponent has a record of ethical challenges and questionable financial disclosures. As voters, we shouldn’t accept this pay-to-play politics as usual. We should embrace new challengers and fresh voices.

I’m campaigning on an agenda that will bring real change to my community and improve the lives of thousands of our residents.

For me, it starts with strengthening our public school system through greater investments and fighting for legislation that achieves equal pay for equal work.

We also must be smart in expanding access to healthcare through a fiscally responsible expansion of Medicaid, which will have a positive impact on one million Floridians and our economy.

I will fight hard to ensure that the days of having special interests get ahead while our families are left behind come to an end because it’s time that our families have a voice fighting for them.

These are the real issues that set me apart from my opponent. If given the great honor to serve the residents of District 114, I’m prepared to hit the ground running in Tallahassee and work for a better tomorrow.

Daisy Baez, candidate, State House District 114, Miami
