Military security

It’s a fact that arms and ammunition on military bases are kept under lock and key and for a very good reason. Even though everyone goes through the same basic training, most go on to some Military Occupational Specialty not requiring the use of weapons per se.

The safety and security of the base is the responsibility of the military police, shore patrol and others trained in law enforcement.

A base is like a city with people doing everything from teaching to brain surgery.

Politicians who have jumped in to take advantage of the latest horrific event would do well to leave things to those who lead our military and who have done a lot better keeping peace within our military bases than the civilians have been able to do in their own cities.
