Young Nobel winner

Malala Yousafzai wins the Nobel Peace Prize! She is the youngest person to receive this coveted honor. Hopefully, this moment will wake Pakistan up and lead it to realize that Malala is right — everybody deserves an education, including girls.

The Western world can finally understand that it is not the religion of Islam that promotes these ridiculous ideas, like no education for girls. It is the culture of that society and the people living there who impose these restrictions under the banner of Islam. Malala uses the teachings of Islam in a true manner. Islam says that every Muslim is required to get an education, whether a man or a woman. So who in the world are these extremists to tell her what to do?

I firmly believe that the education of girls is the best tool to counter extremism in the Muslim world.
