Reduce the tolls

As a longtime user of SunPass, I was dismayed when I learned about this refund program in the July 1 article, Dade drivers may see $3M in toll refunds.

I think it is disgraceful that the commuting public has to subscribe to a program, in order to get back some of our own money! Obviously, MDX is charging too much.

Everyone that passes through an MDX toll using a transponder should automatically be enrolled for a refund of surplus tolls, not have to come begging MDX for a refund of our own money. Further, you make it nice and complicated to enroll in the program, by requiring that one go to SunPass to get the transponder information. MDX pretends that it doesn’t have the information already. In my experience MDX has never failed to send a bill to my address when the transponder didn’t register. As it is now, I have no idea if you registered the three transponders that I enrolled today.

In my humble opinion, MDX and the management team that runs it is not serving the community that funds it, as it should be.
