Poor comparison of candidates’ views
The Oct. 5 piece Gov. vs. Gov., comparing Gov. Rick Scott to former Gov. Charlie Crist, seemed inadequate. While some of the topics were interesting, they seemed to be relatively neutral and ineffective in stirring voter emotions.
It would have been of greater benefit to the voter and reader if the topics included high school dropout rates, college-level enrollment rates, levels of state incarcerations, levels of state crimes, money towards environmental issues, and the amount of newly formed businesses in the state. I think seeing the quantitative difference in social and economic policy outcomes would have been of greater service than comparing data that seemed unrelated to either governor’s running position or ability to change.
