Don’t stop testing
As a Floridian, it’s nothing new to hear the talk of opposition to tests. The Sept. 27 article Parents push back on Florida’s standardized testing system, says that there are more than 1,400 members on an anti-testing network.
I think it is outrageous to stop testing in Florida. These tests are benchmarks for students, and they also set goals that students need to meet.
Some parents may argue that the testing creates unnecessary pressure on students, but that is 100-percent necessary and allows the student to work toward a goal.
There’s a reason tests are implemented, and there’s a reason that they are still used.
While the testing system may be outdated, and needs some reassessing, it’s still in the community’s best interest to continue testing students.
