Honor the past
Another one bites the dust. Tobacco Road, the oldest bar in Miami — it opened 102 years ago — is closing its doors. So sad. People from every walk of life went there. There were no velvet ropes at the door or lists held by a flunky. Everybody was in it together, there to have a bloody good time or to drown their sorrows in sin. The food was great, and the French fries had no competition.
I have many glorious memories that will be forever etched in my heart. Oh, Miami, wake up! Don’t let your history fall in the dust. No new bricks and mortar will ever be able to replace what has been taken.
