A recent letter to the editor, Jeb’s pretty slick, contained historical errors too egregious to be left unanswered.
Bush, like any governor, probably promised before the election to win his state for his party’s nominee. However, once the outcome became subject to a recount, he immediately recused himself from all matters pertaining to the election.
The writer’s assertion that the butterfly ballot was some sort of Republican plot to fool Palm Beach voters ignores the fact that the butterfly ballot was both designed and administered by Democrats. To try to pin it on Bush is just absurd.
