Pizzi car accident

After reading the June 27 article Pizzi car accident prompts special meeting, on Miami Lakes Mayor Michael Pizzi’s recent auto accident, I have several questions:

Why was Pizzi not ticketed for leaving the scene of an accident? Noticeably injured, and his car wrapped around a tree, why did law enforcement not conduct a roadside impairment test? Was Pizzi alone? Would any other citizen, under the same circumstances, be treated the same?

I’m glad to see that an investigation is under way, but at this late date, will FDLE be able to conduct a proper investigation?
