Earth under attack

Fabiola Santiago’s June 20 column, A message falling on deaf ears, should be republished on the front page of every Florida paper. Pope Francis’ message on the state of the Earth isn’t only his message, it’s a divine warning.

This simple man has sent a worldwide warning that should be heard by politicians such as Sen. Marco Rubio and Miami-Dade Mayor Carlos Gimenez. It’s disturbing that local politicians’ actions are so diametrically opposite the pope’s message. The list of environmental threats is long and growing.
