Ed Calle a Miami treasure
Happy to see the feature on Miami’s Ed Calle, Master of Sax, in the June 25 Tropical Life.
We saw Ed playing with Arturo Sandoval at the Blue Note in Greenwich Village last August. Sandoval was wonderful, but Calle stole the show with his sound and soulful stage presence.
Jazz is certainly a performance art, and Ed leaves it all on the stage. After the show we introduced ourselves as fellow Miamians, and he couldn’t have been nicer or more humble. He is a true Miami treasure.
