Don’t dismiss racism
The violent display of a racist’s mindset is indeed heinous.
Even scarier is that a 21-year-old put on display for all to see the private thoughts of many others who hold positions of authority — such as members of Congress, governors, mayors, judges and law-enforcement officers — and who are charged with watching over the well-being of all citizens of this great nation.
African Americans know, live and endure this truth every day, while others have the luxury of excusing it, ignoring it or dismissing it altogether.
