Diaz-Balart: Marking the 35th anniversary of Radio y TV Martí

For thirty-five years, the United States has been providing reliable, outside information to the Cuban people.

I applaud the service of dedicated journalists, technical and programming personnel, and other crucial staff at the Office of Cuba Broadcasting (OCB), which administers Radio and TV Martí, launched on May 20, 1985.

The United States’ steadfast commitment to OCB demonstrates our commitment to liberty, democracy, and human rights – all of which can thrive only with access to free and independent media.

On the 35th anniversary of U.S. broadcasts to Cuba, I introduced in Congress this very important resolution to honor the remarkable people of OCB, highlight their crucial mission, and mark their many contributions to the cause of freedom for the Cuban people.

Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart

District 25
