Smoke-free venues
It is important that nonsmokers have the option of a smoke-free environment be it for housing, recreation, or other activities. In Miami-Dade County, a listing of smoke-free facilities, including housing, can be found under the Resources tab at the website for the county’s MDC’s Tobacco Free Workgroup. Go to healthymiamidade.org to learn more about adding a business to this list or for help implementing a smoke-free workplace policy.
Other important links include individual smoking cessation assistance, SWAT (Students Working Against Tobacco), publications, and community outreach, including the Speaker’s Bureau.
