Solution to all our problems? Population control
It’s not “who,” it’s “how many.”
Does anyone really think there would be such an uproar if a few hundred migrants showed up at our southern border; or one or two small boats filled with a few North Africans drifted across the Mediterranean in search of a better life in Europe. Certainly not. But when it is thousands upon thousands, there is an outcry of hatred and bigotry.
We read about traffic problems. We read about natural disasters such as fires, droughts, floods. We read about guns, murders, riots, violence of all kinds. And yet, not a word about the cause, common to all of these problems. The plague upon us is ourselves. Too many people struggling to deal with each other.
As the world population continues to swell, so does everything we complain about. Human beings who live in already overcrowded areas of the world will inexorably try to migrate to other places that have not yet reached that point. As humans begin to populate areas that used to provide a safe haven for other species to live and thrive in, the result is already known. Fires, floods, famines, and the loss of biodiversity.
We try to deal with all of these problems with a Bandaid instead of a cure. The cure is simple. Population growth must be reversed. Before anyone starts screaming against such a statement, please stop and think. It is the most humane way to deal with everything we are all complaining about: traffic, pollution, energy needs, wars, famine, fires, floods, starvation, immigration, loss of animal habitat, greenhouse gasses, climate change, hurricanes, garbage, plastic waste.
It is a non-violent solution. It is up to each and every one of us. It must be a world wide effort. It is only our collective conscience to save our fellow man — for the good of us all — with so little effort, it is just amazing that we don't do it.
