The problems associated with the Agency for Persons with Disabilities has to rest solely on the shoulders of Florida’s governor. The buck stops there. But Gov. Rick Scott has yet to find reason enough to step in and prevent another atrocity involving another patient under the agency’s care.
Along with getting someone new in the APD, let’s also rid the poisonous environment of the staff, including doctors and nurses who have failed in their duties to protect their charges. Licenses need to be revoked and heads need to roll, immediately.
Fourteen-year-old Paige Elizabeth Lunsford must not have died in vain. Gov. Scott should show some dignity and class and do some viable housecleaning at the APD.
