Re the Sept. 6 letter Marlins Park: I work at the ballpark. I see, and sometimes meet, people coming from all across the United States and around the world.
They come not because they are fans of the Miami Marlins, but because they want to see this wonderful park where the team plays ball.
They have a good time and they go back home and tell people what a good time they had. Maybe they got on the jumbo screen, caught a foul ball, met a local resident or sampled delicious food. What good PR for our community. Looking out at the fans, all I see are people having fun, win or lose. The game itself is secondary to their enjoying the park.
I love working there.
