Flawed pot proposal
The Sept. 11 Other Views article Ex-justices reject Amendment 2 was a thoughtful and carefully prepared discussion of the true meaning behind the national effort to legalize marijuana for medical purposes. The jurists logically address five of the real issues underlying this dangerous legislation in an effort to open the eyes and ears of Florida’s electorate.
Bottom line — it would be almost impossible to fix the amendment’s many flaws because it would be constitutional law rather than one created through legislation, which could be changed respond to inevitable problems.
