Is this justice?

In the May 5 Miami Herald, I read two stories on 1B — one, Cop suspended for attacking woman, reports that a Miami Beach detective has been suspended without pay for a month (to be served on scattered days) for punching a handcuffed woman in the face and returning her kick.

The second article, Couple facing prison for having sex on beach, says a couple convicted of having sex on Bradenton Beach (videotaped by eavesdroppers, of course), will likely spend years behind bars and must register as sex offenders.

Excuse me? This is a prime example of the capricious nature of our criminal-justice system. This is not justice. This is insanity.
