I held my nose as I read the convoluted logic of Rep. Steve Crisafulli in his April 30 Other Views column, Why I oppose the expansion of Medicaid. He has caused Florida taxpayers to pay up to $80,000 for a special session.
According to Crisafulli, Floridians don’t take “personal responsibility” to get health insurance, and hospitals, which aren’t allowed to turn away the uninsured, must “become more efficient.” He says the Low Income Pool can be made up by the state, yet he doesn’t say where the money will come from.
He’s a shameful ideologue, holding all of us in limbo while he throws a tantrum. I wonder how many who voted for him have Medicare and can’t see the hypocrisy. As I see it, 2016 can’t come soon enough!
