Gamma knife an alternative

The April 28 article After years of face pain, firefighter finds relief omitted an alternative non-invasive procedure to control this condition. It is called a gamma knife and it can deaden the nerve where this mechanical interference is taking place to accomplish the same thing as the invasive procedure described.

Trigeminal neuralgia can also be caused by multiple sclerosis, an auto-immune disorder that causes destruction of tissue surrounding axions of the nerves.

My wife is an MS patient and suffered from this very condition. She had gamma knife done along with facial blocks and has been pain-free for more than five years.
